In a powerful display of gratitude and unity, Kashmiri-Americans and their allies gathered in front of the White House, hailing President Trump’s intervention in the long-standing Kashmir conflict as a crucial step toward peace between two nuclear powers.

In Washington D.C., a large crowd of Kashmiri-Americans and their supporters, including members from every major Pakistani political party, rallied outside the White House to thank President Donald Trump. They expressed deep appreciation for his offer to mediate the decades-old Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India, a move seen as pivotal for regional peace and global security.

Holding signs and chanting “Thank you, President Trump,” demonstrators acknowledged Trump’s statesmanship in encouraging dialogue and supporting the recent ceasefire between the two neighboring countries. Organizers emphasized that the rally aimed not just to express thanks, but to call for a long-term resolution to the Kashmir issue.

Sardar Zarif Khan, advisor to the President of Azad Kashmir and the event’s chief organizer, praised the resilience of the participants. Despite harsh weather, families came out in large numbers to show their support. He cautioned, however, that the current ceasefire might only be temporary. Tensions still persist, especially with India’s increasing investment in advanced military technology, which he sees as a sign of potential future conflict.

Dr. Ghulam N. Mir, head of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, highlighted the ongoing suffering and instability caused by the Kashmir dispute. He pointed out that in the past 77 years, the region has been plagued by wars and near-nuclear crises due to India’s occupation of Kashmir and the people’s unwavering demand for freedom.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace & Justice, praised Trump’s bold diplomatic stance. He said the President’s willingness to mediate was welcomed by the people of Kashmir, who have long been denied a peaceful resolution. Dr. Fai added that resolving this dispute could benefit India too, by reducing military costs and allowing focus on socioeconomic development.

Dr. Imtiaz Khan stressed the importance of the ceasefire, crediting President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for averting a possible nuclear disaster. He warned that escalating hostilities had pushed the region dangerously close to catastrophe. Their diplomatic intervention, he noted, played a vital role in diffusing tensions.

As the rain poured, attendees stood firm in appreciation. They reiterated their call for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, which advocate for a plebiscite allowing Kashmiris to decide their own future.
