Aligarh Muslim University acquired this land legally under the Land Acquisition Act on June 13 in the year 1925. Furthermore, the Governor of the United Provinces formally reserved this specific property for the university on November 19 in the year 1940. A joint official survey conducted on January 3 in the year 2022 by local revenue officers clearly recognized the land as university property.

The local civic body broke every administrative rule by taking physical control of the property without serving a formal legal notice.
