In the face of political repression and a rising tide of suppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has made a renewed and passionate appeal for unity among Kashmiris to reclaim their rights and resolve the long-standing Kashmir conflict.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has once again called upon the people of Kashmir to stand united in their struggle for justice, peace, and self-determination. In a recent statement following a leadership meeting in Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas emphasized the urgent need for solidarity to counter the ongoing political and democratic challenges in the region.

APHC leaders expressed grave concerns over the divisive actions of India-sponsored factions and so-called leaders who, according to them, have begun aligning with the policies of the BJP-led Indian government. These figures, the APHC stated, have lost public support and credibility among the Kashmiri population.

Describing the Kashmir issue as fundamentally political, the APHC reiterated that both Pakistan and India are bound by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. These resolutions guarantee the right of the Kashmiri people to determine their future through a fair and impartial plebiscite held under UN supervision. The group stressed that this commitment must be honored without further delay.

The conference welcomed the recent statement made by Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who voiced strong support for the Kashmiri cause. According to the APHC, his remarks have served as a source of renewed motivation and hope for the freedom movement in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Calling for constructive dialogue, the APHC urged India, Pakistan, and Kashmiri representatives to engage in serious discussions. They emphasized that a peaceful solution must reflect the genuine aspirations of the Kashmiri people and align with the UNSC framework. The APHC also demanded that the Indian government abandon its rigid stance to make way for diplomatic progress.

Another key concern raised was the prolonged and unlawful detention of Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiri youth in various jails. The APHC appealed to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and the broader international community to intervene and address the worsening human rights situation in IIOJK. The presence of over a million Indian troops in the region, they said, has turned Kashmir into a militarized zone where basic rights are systematically denied.

The APHC called on all stakeholders to recognize the urgency of the Kashmir issue and work collectively toward a peaceful resolution that ensures dignity, freedom, and justice for its people.
