The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has strongly rejected Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s recent remarks on IIOJK, calling them baseless and misleading.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has sharply criticized Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar over his recent statement regarding Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which he made during an event at Chatham House in the UK.

Jaishankar claimed that India had restored growth, economic activity, and social justice in IIOJK, further stating that they were awaiting the return of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to resolve the dispute fully. However, JKLF chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar, in a statement, dismissed these assertions as completely unrealistic, unreasonable, and baseless.

Dar emphasized that the ongoing freedom movement, fueled by immense sacrifices, the presence of nearly a million Indian troops in the region, and multiple United Nations resolutions, all serve as undeniable evidence that IIOJK remains an unresolved, internationally recognized dispute.

Reiterating JKLF’s longstanding stance, he stressed that IIOJK belongs solely to its native people and an issue of international significance. He condemned the Indian minister’s arrogance and outright rejected India’s claims over AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), calling them nothing more than wishful thinking.

Dar further stated that historically, legally, and factually, IIOJK has never belonged to India. He urged the international community to recognize the reality of the Kashmir dispute and stand with the people of IIOJK in their just struggle for self-determination.

The JKLF’s strong response to Jaishankar’s remarks highlights the deep-rooted tensions and the continued struggle of the Kashmiri people against India’s narrative on the issue. The organization has once again called for global intervention to ensure that the Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the aspirations of its people and relevant international laws.
