As tensions rise across South Asia and Indian oppression deepens in IIOJK, the APHC has once again called for a peaceful and just resolution to the Kashmir conflict, grounded in the promises made by the United Nations over seven decades ago.

Srinagar – The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has reiterated its firm commitment to resolving the Kashmir dispute through peaceful and democratic means, based on United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Speaking to the press in Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Abdul Rashid Minhas lamented that despite the passage of 77 years, the final settlement of the Kashmir issue remains elusive, and wars between India and Pakistan have failed to bring peace or justice.

Minhas stressed the APHC’s unwavering stance on seeking a dignified and sustainable resolution through dialogue and cooperation, not conflict. He criticized India’s unilateral and illegal measures, especially those imposed since August 5, 2019, that have disempowered the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and eroded their political and economic rights.

“The drastic changes carried out by the Indian regime have only complicated the issue further,” said Minhas. “Kashmiris are not fighting individuals or parties, but an entire system of injustice, military occupation, and colonial-style governance being imposed from Delhi and guided by the RSS in Nagpur.”

The APHC, established in 1993, was formed to unite political voices advocating for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, anchored in democratic values and international law. Minhas reiterated that Kashmiris are demanding basic rights—justice, peace, and identity—not violence or chaos.

He drew historical parallels with the Dogra rule, noting that Kashmiris then, as now, are being treated as political and economic slaves. “We are fighting for our children’s future,” he added.

Minhas condemned the revocation of Article 370 and the subsequent division of the region into Union Territories, saying it resulted in the theft of local resources, land, and identity. He also criticized the deployment of BJP/RSS-aligned officials in civil and police administration, calling it a violation of international law and a deliberate effort to alter the region’s demographic and political character.

Describing the Kashmir issue as international in nature, he warned that the current situation resembles a pre-war environment, with rising tensions between India and Pakistan. He also denounced the Indian government’s anti-Pakistan rhetoric, accusing it of using hate propaganda as an electoral tool, which only increases regional instability.

Finally, the APHC urged the United Nations and its member states to break their silence and fulfill their long-standing commitment to the people of IIOJK, enabling a peaceful resolution based on self-determination and international consensus.
