As violence and repression continue unabated in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), voices from the ground refuse to be silenced, calling out India’s systemic use of force against civilians.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the ongoing wave of killings and widespread crackdowns by Indian troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In a statement from Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas highlighted that the unresolved Kashmir dispute continues to inflict unimaginable suffering on the people of the region.

He described extrajudicial killings by Indian troops as one of the most horrifying consequences of this decades-long conflict. “These killings are often disguised as fake encounters, targeting innocent civilians and leaving behind shattered families,” Minhas said.

The latest such tragedies occurred in Bandipora and Kupwara, where two more Kashmiri youth were recently killed. According to APHC, these incidents add to a growing list of state-sponsored violence under the guise of national security.

Minhas revealed that since January 1989, over 96,000 Kashmiris have been martyred by Indian forces. “This staggering number is a chilling reminder of the scale and persistence of Indian military aggression, especially under the Modi regime,” he said.

Empowered by draconian laws that offer them blanket immunity, Indian troops are accused of using violence to suppress any form of dissent. The spokesman claimed that extrajudicial executions have become a regular tactic used to crush the Kashmiri resistance.

Despite facing decades of oppression, the APHC underlined that the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken. “The demand for justice and self-determination has not wavered,” Minhas emphasized. “India has failed to silence the people through fear, force, or occupation.”

The APHC reiterated its call for the international community to take note of the situation and pressure India to end its human rights violations in the region.
