President of AJK Calls for Continued Struggle for Kashmir’s Freedom Amid Indian Oppression
February 27, 2025 Off By Sharp MediaDespite facing decades of oppression, the people of Kashmir continue their peaceful struggle for freedom, with leaders like Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry urging the international community to act.
The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ unwavering commitment to their long-standing, peaceful struggle against India’s illegal occupation. During a reception in New York, before heading to London after his U.S. visit, Barrister Sultan emphasized the importance of continuing the fight for freedom, despite the immense challenges faced by the Kashmiri people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Barrister Sultan pointed out that, although United Nations resolutions have granted the people of Kashmir the right to self-determination, they remain deprived of their inalienable rights. The international community’s failure to enforce these resolutions, he remarked, has prolonged the suffering of Kashmiris under India’s occupation.
The Kashmiri diaspora in the United States, Barrister Sultan noted, has always played a critical role in raising global awareness about the Kashmir issue. At this crucial time, he called upon the Kashmiri community in the U.S. to keep their voices loud and clear on every platform, demanding a resolution to the Kashmir dispute and highlighting the ongoing Indian atrocities in the occupied region.
The situation in IIOJK remains dire, with widespread reports of oppression and violence by Indian forces. Barrister Sultan stressed that despite India’s efforts to suppress the Kashmiri spirit of freedom through cruelty, the will of the people remains strong. He expressed confidence that the day is not far when Kashmiris will achieve their long-sought freedom from Indian rule.
As the international community continues to watch, Barrister Sultan called on global leaders to play a proactive role in addressing the Kashmir issue. He urged them to put pressure on India to end the ongoing human rights violations and to work towards a peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with international law and UN resolutions.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry’s remarks underscored the resilience of the Kashmiri people and the continuing struggle for their rightful freedom. As the fight continues, he emphasized the importance of international support in ensuring that the voice of Kashmiris is heard and acted upon on the global stage.
