On this International Day of Genocide Prevention, the world must confront India’s genocide against Muslims in India and IIOJK.

On the International Day of Genocide Prevention, the global community faces an alarming reality: the imminent threat of wiping out the Muslims in India and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). As the United Nations observes this day to reinforce the Genocide Convention, Hindutva leaders, emboldened by the Modi regime, openly advocate for the mass extermination of Muslims. In India, hate crimes and systemic violence targeting Muslims have reached dangerous levels, signalling an escalating crisis.

Experts like Gregory Stanton, founder of Genocide Watch, have raised urgent warnings, highlighting that India is dangerously close to carrying out a Muslim genocide. The persistent dehumanization and brutal treatment of Muslims in both India and the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir region are clear warning signs of impending mass atrocities. These violations include state-sponsored violence, discriminatory policies, and the blatant incitement of hatred against the Muslim community.

Organizations such as Genocide Watch have repeatedly called for immediate international intervention to prevent the escalation of this crisis. They urge the United Nations and global human rights bodies to take stronger action, demanding accountability from India and ensuring the protection of Muslim lives. The global community cannot afford to remain silent as the country veers towards a disaster of unimaginable scale.

Despite mounting evidence and international outcry, the Modi government’s policies and rhetoric continue to embolden the genocide’s architects. As the situation worsens, it is critical that international bodies recognize the urgency of this threat and impose pressure on India to halt its genocidal trajectory.

As we mark this solemn day, the responsibility falls on the world to act decisively. The genocide of Muslims in India and IIOJK cannot be allowed to unfold unchecked. Immediate global action is necessary to protect innocent lives and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
