Indian Media: A Political Tool for BJP’s Propaganda Against Kashmir
March 11, 2025In the modern era of journalism, objectivity and ethical reporting are essential, yet Indian media is increasingly being used as a propaganda tool to serve the ruling party’s interests, particularly against Kashmir.
Political analysts and civil society activists argue that Indian media has become an instrument for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), amplifying its narratives, particularly regarding Kashmir conflict. They believe that rather than upholding journalistic integrity, Indian media is playing a key role in spreading misinformation and fabricating stories to serve political agendas.
During interviews and public statements in Srinagar, experts highlighted how Indian media has deviated from ethical reporting standards. They claim that the coverage of Kashmir and Pakistan by Indian news channels is misleading and politically motivated. Furthermore, they pointed out that India employs media manipulation, cyber warfare, and even terrorism as part of a hybrid strategy to weaken Pakistan and silence the voices of Kashmiris.
According to these analysts, many Indian journalists and television anchors now echo narratives that align with the official stance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. They emphasized that this is not just speculation, as reports like those from the EU Disinfo Lab have already exposed India’s disinformation campaigns and its deep-seated hostility towards Pakistan.
Furthermore, experts noted that Indian media outlets closely linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are actively advancing the Hindutva ideology under the pretense of nationalism. They argued that war-driven rhetoric, coupled with hate-filled media coverage, plays a crucial role in furthering Modi’s authoritarian ambitions.
