In the wake of rising hostilities from India, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has vowed an uncompromising response and announced immediate emergency measures to protect civilians along the Line of Control.

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has made it clear that Indian aggression along the Line of Control will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reaffirmed his administration’s steadfast support for the residents affected by unprovoked Indian attacks.

These remarks came during a high-level emergency meeting chaired by the Prime Minister to evaluate the escalating security situation caused by recent Indian shelling along the LoC.

The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Colonel (R) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Information Minister Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, Health Minister Dr. Nisar Ansar Abdali, the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and other key officials.

As an immediate response, PM Anwarul Haq ordered the formation of a Central Emergency Response Center that will operate 24/7. The center will coordinate all relief and emergency measures and provide direct updates to the Prime Minister.

This central unit will include divisional commissioners, deputy inspector generals, deputy commissioners, and senior police officers. It is designed to ensure a streamlined and rapid response to any further aggression or emergency.

In addition, the Prime Minister directed the creation of specialized Emergency Health and Information Response Centers under the Health and Information Departments, respectively. These units will maintain constant communication with the central command and keep both the public and authorities fully updated on developments.

Meanwhile, former AJK President and Ambassador Sardar Masood Khan condemned the Indian shelling, labeling it a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter.

He described the attacks as criminal and unjustified acts of war that have tragically claimed civilian lives—including an 80-year-old muezzin—and left an eight-year-old girl critically injured in Muzaffarabad.

Khan praised Pakistan’s measured yet firm military response, calling it both lawful and necessary. He stressed that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Pakistan has the legitimate right to defend its sovereignty and people from foreign aggression.

He urged the global community to break its silence and take notice of India’s dangerous actions, which threaten to destabilize the entire South Asian region.

Khan also paid tribute to the resolve of the people of Kashmir and Pakistan, praising the armed forces for delivering what he called a “just and punitive” response.

As tensions continue to rise, the leadership in AJK is taking swift steps to ensure both preparedness and protection for the civilian population under threat.
