Three Indian origin ex-DHS employees, including two Indian Americans, were sentenced for their roles in a conspiracy to steal proprietary software and sensitive law enforcement databases from the U.S. government (Herald Deccan, India Today & NDTV). The ultra-patriot Indian diaspora influenced by Hindutva narrative are becoming assertive around the world and resultantly compromising the security of host states. The trio, comprising Edwards, Patel, and Venkata, conspired to steal proprietary US software and databases. It contained sensitive law-enforcement information, along with personally identifiable information (PII) of over 2,00,000 federal employees from DHS-OIG and USPS-OIG. The intent was to use the stolen assets to create a customized software for sale to the Indian government agencies.
The case is not of its first kind as Indian nationals in the recent past working in ‘Al-Dehra consultants’ were involved in different spying and terrorism activities. The activities of these Indian Navy officers prompted the law enforcement agencies of Qatar to take action against them, subsequently convicting them and serving the death penalty by Qatar.
These acts prove that the Indian diaspora in Foreign countries is a threat to the security of host countries and is only working for the interest of Hindutva India.
The US and particularly Muslims countries in the Middle East should be mindful of unlawful activities of Hindutva related activities endangering national security of the host states.
