Maqam highlighted the solidarity between Pakistanis and Kashmiris, noting that their “hearts beat together.”

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Maqam, reaffirmed the inseparable connection between Pakistan and Kashmir, emphasizing that India’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35A has not altered the disputed status of Kashmir. Speaking at a commemorative event for Colonel Khan Muhammad Khan in Sidhnuti, Maqam underscored that Pakistan remains committed to Kashmir’s cause.

Maqam highlighted the solidarity between Pakistanis and Kashmiris, noting that their “hearts beat together.” He commended Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for courageously presenting the Kashmir issue at the United Nations, asserting that the people of occupied Kashmir have already rejected India’s ruling Hindutva-driven policies under Prime Minister Modi.

He further expressed that Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) serves as Pakistan’s “first line of defense.” Acknowledging the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, Maqam stated that India’s attempts to destabilize the region through divisive tactics will not succeed.

The minister also paid homage to the legacy of Colonel Khan Muhammad Khan, or “Baba Poonch,” who is celebrated for his contributions to political, social, and religious life in the region. The people of both Pakistan and Kashmir continue to honor his service and commitment, Maqam noted, adding that the spirit of unity and defense will guide Pakistan and Kashmir in their pursuit of justice and peace.
