The National Conference (NC) has strongly criticized the Modi government for overlooking the needs of Indian-illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in the recent budget, calling for a special budget package for the region.

Speaking at a public rally in Samba, NC leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra accused the government of failing to provide basic amenities like water and electricity to the people. He questioned New Delhi’s apparent indifference to public issues, including severe power and water shortages, inadequate medical facilities, and a lack of manpower in government departments.

Sadhotra also pointed out the deteriorating state of industries in the region, accusing the government of offering nothing but “castles in the air.” He urged for proportionate financial support and necessary policy changes to revive the struggling industries in Jammu and Kashmir.

National Conference Jammu president Rattan Lal Gupta echoed these concerns, highlighting the Modi government’s neglect of the region in the budget.
