In a powerful show of solidarity with the Kashmiri people, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent speech has reignited hope for a just resolution to the decades-old Kashmir conflict.

The All-Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Kashmir chapter has praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his clear and firm stance on the Kashmir issue during his national address. According to the APHC, his remarks reflect the deep sentiments of the Kashmiri population.

During his televised address, PM Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute. He emphasized that the region “was, is, and will remain a disputed territory” until the Kashmiri people are allowed to exercise their right to self-determination. This, he stressed, must take place through a free and impartial vote under United Nations supervision.

The prime minister also firmly rejected India’s unilateral actions in the region, declaring that such moves cannot change the factual or legal status of Kashmir. His remarks received widespread approval among Kashmiri leaders.

Leaders from the APHC Azad Kashmir, including Mushtaq Ahmed Butt (information secretary), Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, Sheikh Yaqoob, Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah, and Muhammad Shafi Dar, voiced their appreciation in a joint statement from Islamabad. They noted that PM Shehbaz’s words have captured the essence of Kashmiri aspirations and struggles.

According to these leaders, the prime minister’s address has not only acknowledged the pain and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people but also reinforced Pakistan’s unwavering support for their cause. They expressed gratitude for his diplomatic commitment to the Kashmir cause on an international platform.

In addition to APHC leaders, Kashmiri activist Altaf Hussain Wani also made a strong statement condemning India’s aggressive actions. He denounced what he termed “naked aggression” by Indian forces, particularly targeting civilian areas and places of worship.

Wani pointed out that India’s attack on mosques and residential areas amounts to a serious breach of international humanitarian law. Such acts, he argued, violate the Geneva Conventions, which strictly prohibit targeting civilians and sacred sites during conflicts.

He urged the international community to take notice of these violations and to hold India accountable under international law. Wani emphasized that silence in the face of such atrocities could embolden further aggression.

As tensions persist in the region, the Kashmir dispute continues to attract international attention. The renewed commitment from Pakistani leadership, backed by APHC Azad Kashmir, sends a strong message of unity and resilience in the face of prolonged injustice.
