Pakistan’s Kashmir Committee Demands Independent Probe into Pahalgam Attack, Warns Against Indian Provocations
April 24, 2025As tensions mount in South Asia, Pakistan’s Parliament issues a stern warning: Peace cannot coexist with propaganda and provocation in IIOJK.
The Kashmir Committee of Pakistan’s Parliament has voiced grave concern over the recent attack at a tourist site in Pahalgam, located in the Anantnag district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The Committee extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
However, the Committee also stressed the need for a thorough and transparent investigation, raising serious doubts about the official Indian narrative. Eyewitnesses claim that the attackers wore military uniforms, reminiscent of earlier false flag operations such as the Chattisinghpora massacre in 2000 and Nadimarg in 2003. Despite bold claims by Indian authorities, no concrete forensic or visual evidence has been shared to support their version of events or the reported neutralization of the alleged perpetrators.
The location and timing of the attack have intensified suspicion. Pahalgam, known as one of the most militarized areas in the world, operates under an extreme military-to-civilian ratio of 1:9. The idea that heavily armed assailants could have traversed over 400 kilometers undetected in such a closely monitored zone appears highly implausible.
The Committee also condemned India’s knee-jerk response of blaming Pakistan without presenting credible evidence. This pattern of baseless accusations appears to serve a larger agenda—namely, to delegitimize the Kashmiri freedom movement and distract from the Indian government’s internal policy failures and regional unrest.
It further noted that these strategies have intensified under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, where state-backed media narratives are being weaponized to drown out legitimate dissent. The Committee described such tactics as part of India’s hybrid warfare campaign, aiming to undermine Pakistan and stoke regional instability.
The Kashmir Committee issued a clear warning: any future Indian military aggression or false flag stunt would be met with a firm, timely, and proportionate response, more decisive than Pakistan’s retaliation after the 2019 Balakot incident. The Committee reaffirmed that Pakistan holds the sovereign right to defend itself and will do so with full national resolve.
Finally, the Committee called upon the international community to intervene, urging independent investigations into the Pahalgam incident. It urged global actors to take note of India’s recurring manipulation of facts in conflict areas and to hold it accountable for further escalating tensions in the region.
