Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has denounced the deprivation of social rights in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

APHC in a statement issued on the “World Day of Social Justice,” in Srinagar said, the people of the territory, along with minorities including Muslims in India, have been denied social justice.

The APHC emphasized that Kashmiri people have been struggling for their rights for the past seven decades. The statement reiterated its peaceful pursuit of justice and highlighted the desire for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions passed in 1949.

The statement underscored the longstanding injustice faced by the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the wake of the BJP government’s actions since August 2019. Despite claims by the Indian government of normalcy in IIOJK, the reality, as expressed by Kashmiri youth to the media, is far from it. They emphasized the ongoing military and police siege and the loss of basic rights.

The APHC called upon UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to urgently intervene for a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute to prevent a potential catastrophe in the South Asian region, given the involvement of three nuclear states in the neighborhood.

These concerns reflect the ongoing struggle for social justice and political resolution in the region, with Kashmiri voices advocating for their rights and the attention of the international community.
