Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK will host a significant conference tomorrow. The event marks the fifth anniversary of the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by India’s Modi government.

The conference will be chaired by Jess Phillips MP. It aims to spur public opinion in favor of a UN-promised plebiscite for the people of Kashmir.

Taking place at the Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the event seeks to shed light on India’s actions. On August 5, 2019, India unilaterally removed Kashmir’s special status, violating UN Security Council resolutions and international law.

Since then, Kashmiris have endured accelerated settler colonialism. This demographic manipulation in the disputed territory breaches UN Conventions and international norms. The conference aims to ignite debates and discussions on the issue.

The lack of international response and general apathy towards the situation in Kashmir will be central topics. The event seeks to address these concerns and call for global attention and action.

Invitations have been extended to MPs and public figures. Their participation is crucial to show support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

By gathering voices and opinions, Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK hopes to create a significant impact. The conference is a platform to advocate for justice and the rights of the Kashmiri people.
