Mushaal Hussein Mullick Urges Global Powers to Help Resolve Kashmir Dispute
May 13, 2025As tensions in South Asia continue to simmer, Mushaal Hussein Mullick calls for urgent international intervention to settle the decades-old Kashmir conflict.
Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has stressed the pressing need to resolve the Kashmir dispute, warning that ignoring it will only prolong regional instability.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, she emphasized that Kashmir remains the core issue in South Asia. According to Mushaal, if this dispute remains unresolved, India may continue to stage false flag operations to justify its aggressive actions and deflect global scrutiny.
She welcomed recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who expressed his willingness to mediate between India and Pakistan. Mushaal pointed out that this statement clearly demonstrates that Kashmir is not merely an internal matter for India, but an international issue that demands a multilateral approach.
Highlighting the global implications of the conflict, Mushaal said that both the United States and China could play significant roles in facilitating peace talks. She underlined that the involvement of major powers is crucial to bring about a peaceful resolution and to prevent further bloodshed in the region.
Mushaal also criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of escalating tensions for political gain. She remarked that Modi has a history of taking confrontational steps, even pushing the region to the brink of nuclear conflict just to secure votes. However, she added, his recent political setbacks have left him in a weakened position, unable to defend his past actions or confront international scrutiny.
The Kashmir issue, she said, has gone unresolved for far too long, causing immense suffering to the people of the region. Mushaal stressed that now is the time for the international community to step up and help bring justice and peace to Kashmir.
She reiterated that silence and inaction are no longer options. The world must recognize the urgency of the situation and respond with a united effort to mediate between the stakeholders involved.
It’s worth noting that President Trump, in his recent comments, expressed a clear interest in helping resolve the Kashmir issue, marking a significant shift in the global conversation around the conflict.
