Lord Qurban Hussain Calls for Global Action on Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine for World Peace
December 31, 2024Lord Qurban Hussain urges global action on Kashmir and Palestine, declaring world peace impossible without resolving these long-standing conflicts, while condemning atrocities in Gaza and IIOJK.
Lord Qurban Hussain, a distinguished member of the British House of Lords, has boldly asserted that world peace remains unattainable without an immediate resolution to the conflicts in Palestine and Kashmir, in accordance with the United Nations’ resolutions. In a recent discussion with Dr. Muhammad Tahir Tabassum, President of the Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD), Lord Qurban emphasized the critical need for international intervention in both conflicts, urging a global commitment to peace and justice.
Regarding Palestine, Lord Qurban condemned the ongoing massacre and brutality in Gaza, describing it as unparalleled in modern human history. The unchecked violence, he said, underscores the urgency for international organizations, such as the United Nations, to take decisive action. He called for an immediate ceasefire, stressing that the world cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering in Gaza, which has escalated to a catastrophic level.
Turning to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Lord Qurban did not hold back in criticizing India’s extremist government. He highlighted the severe repression faced by the people of IIOJK, including the widespread use of black laws designed to suppress dissent and deny basic human rights. Lord Qurban made it clear that these atrocities are not confined to IIOJK alone but extend to Muslims, Sikhs, and other minorities in India, who are persecuted under discriminatory policies.
He also spoke on the active role of Pakistanis and Kashmiris abroad, particularly those in Britain, in raising awareness about the Kashmir dispute. Lord Qurban reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, vowing that they will never be left alone in their struggle. “We will continue to highlight their plight until justice is served,” he stated. This sentiment of solidarity resonated deeply with those advocating for the rights of Kashmiris and their fight for self-determination.
Lord Qurban also took the opportunity to praise the efforts of INSPAD and its president, Dr. Tahir Tabassum, for their tireless work in bringing global attention to the Kashmir issue. He acknowledged the organization’s important role in promoting peace, justice, and human rights, particularly through the platform it provides for Kashmir’s voice on the international stage. Lord Qurban appreciated Dr. Tabassum’s leadership and dedication, emphasizing the value of such efforts in the ongoing struggle for the people of Kashmir.
Dr. Tahir Tabassum, in return, recognized Lord Qurban Hussain’s long-standing contributions to the Kashmir cause and his invaluable service in the British House of Lords. He expressed his admiration for Lord Qurban’s commitment to the cause of peace, hoping that his guidance and mentorship would continue to inspire future generations of leaders and advocates for justice.
