How long can people survive without clean water? The residents of Bandipora in IIOJK are demanding answers as they struggle with a worsening crisis during the holy month of Ramadan.

Residents of Bandipora district in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have taken to the streets to protest against a severe shortage of drinking water. The crisis has affected multiple areas, including Mir Mohallah, Danger Mohallah, Bonikhan, and Parray Mohallah in Hajin town, leaving locals desperate for a solution.

The protesters, including a large number of women, blocked the market road to draw attention to their plight. They demanded immediate action from the authorities, stressing that access to clean water is a basic necessity that cannot be ignored.

According to the demonstrators, the administration had assured them that the water supply would be restored by Sunday evening. However, despite these promises, the shortage persists, causing frustration and hardship among the residents. They expressed their disappointment over the failure to resolve the issue, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan when the need for drinking water is even more critical.

The protesters urged the local administration to take swift action to restore the water supply and prevent further suffering. They warned that if their demands were not met, they would continue their demonstrations until a permanent solution was provided.

This crisis highlights the growing infrastructure challenges in IIOJK, where essential services often remain neglected. Residents continue to struggle with basic amenities, raising concerns about governance and the authorities’ commitment to addressing public grievances.
