As IIOJK’s cry for self-determination continues, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference accuses India’s ruling BJP of standing in the way of justice and peace in the conflict-ridden region.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has accused the BJP-led Indian government of being the major barrier to resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute. The group emphasized that India is preventing any progress toward the UN-promised right to self-determination for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In a statement issued from Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said the global community now recognizes the Kashmiri freedom movement as a legitimate struggle. However, he argued that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the key obstacle to peace.

Referring to Modi’s controversial past, Minhas recalled the 2002 Gujarat riots, during which thousands of Muslims lost their lives, and described him as having “blood on his hands.” He said Modi’s leadership reflects a Hindutva-driven ideology that promotes the marginalization of Muslims and other minorities across India.

The APHC strongly criticized the current Indian regime for placing RSS-aligned figures in influential positions within the military and civil services. According to Minhas, this move aims to systematically undermine Muslim communities in IIOJK, as well as minorities such as Sikhs, Christians, and Dalits across India.

The statement also condemned those individuals and political groups in IIOJK who align themselves with Indian interests. Minhas accused these actors of trying to force the resistance movement into accepting the status quo, something that, he stressed, the Kashmiri people will never do. “We cannot betray the mission of our martyrs,” he declared.

One of the key issues raised in the statement was the proposed establishment of separate townships for Kashmiri Pandits. The APHC firmly rejected this idea, urging Kashmiri Pandits to return to their original homes and live peacefully alongside their Muslim neighbors, as they did in the past.

The APHC also denounced the Indian forces’ ongoing cordon and search operations, house raids, and property seizures, calling them part of a broader strategy to crush dissent. These actions, the spokesman said, are designed to stifle the voices of freedom and impose fear on the population.

The statement concluded by warning that the Indian government’s militaristic approach in IIOJK poses a direct challenge to international norms. Minhas urged the global community to step up and hold India accountable, stating that it is high time the world intervenes to protect the oppressed people of Kashmir.
