APHC Calls for UN Monitoring of Human Rights Violations in IIOJK
April 10, 2025The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) demands the United Nations send a team to monitor human rights abuses and violations of international laws in IIOJK.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has once again called on the United Nations to send a team to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to observe the ongoing violations of international laws and civil rights in the region.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas accused the Indian government, including its Home Ministry, army, and police, of wreaking havoc in the Kashmir Valley under oppressive laws. He emphasized that the Kashmiri people, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, continue to stand as symbols of resistance against Indian oppression.
Minhas also pointed out that the blood of Kashmiri martyrs would continue to haunt those who betray the region’s freedom struggle. He vowed that Kashmiris would not spare those promoting the anti-Kashmir agenda of the RSS and BJP in IIOJK. Despite the ongoing repression, he declared that the spirit of Kashmiris’ resistance would ultimately triumph over lies, betrayal, and suppression.
The spokesman highlighted India’s relentless efforts to crush the legitimate struggle for self-determination in IIOJK. He specifically criticized the BJP-led government for working to erase Kashmir’s distinct identity and its Muslim-majority status. Referring to India’s past actions, Minhas expressed concern that Indian agencies might stage a false flag operation to target the Hurriyat camp. However, he stressed that such tactics would only bring more shame to India’s so-called democracy.
The APHC reiterated the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions, emphasizing that this is crucial for peace in South Asia. The statement reminded the international community of the immense sacrifices made by the people of IIOJK, who have lost tens of thousands of lives and suffered enormous economic damage in their pursuit of self-determination. Despite these hardships, the APHC stressed that Kashmiris would continue their struggle until they achieved full success.
The spokesman reaffirmed that the Kashmiri people’s struggle is solely for freedom from Indian occupation, and they will not rest until their right to self-determination, as guaranteed in UN resolutions, is realized.
