India Targets IIOJK Muslims and Landlords in Latest Wave of Oppression

Indian authorities have escalated their oppressive actions against Muslims and landlords in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), disguising blatant communal targeting as so-called law enforcement.

Over a dozen Kashmiri Muslims and landlords have been booked for providing shelter to valley residents and Muslim outsiders, showcasing India’s systematic harassment of minorities in IIOJK.

Indian police filed multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) against nine landlords in Samba district. Their alleged crime? Failing to report tenant details to the local police—a draconian excuse for intimidation.

Five more cases were registered against Muslim landlords in Jammu district. Victims include Farman Ali, Asima Latif, Mohammad Shakeel, Zakir Hussain, and Azam Malik. Their offense? Renting properties to Rohingya refugees.

This deliberate targeting of Muslims reveals India’s relentless campaign of oppression in IIOJK. It’s clear: the regime is weaponizing legal frameworks to humiliate, harass, and isolate minority communities.

Providing shelter, a basic human decency, is now treated as a crime under India’s communal agenda. Refugees fleeing persecution are punished further, while their helpers face legal persecution.

The registration of these FIRs is not about law enforcement—it’s about fostering fear. These actions serve as a warning to anyone showing compassion to marginalized groups, particularly Muslims.

India’s communal policies are designed to alienate Kashmiri Muslims further from their homeland. This sustained assault on their economic and social rights is part of a larger agenda to suppress dissent.

The global silence on this issue only emboldens such actions. By criminalizing landlords and tenants, India is violating fundamental rights, yet the world stands idle.
