India’s Reign of Terror in IIOJK
November 22, 2024The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has slammed India for its brutal repression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The region faces rampant violence under Indian forces.
Indian troops, armed with unchecked powers under draconian laws, continue to target civilians. These laws enable mass atrocities, including cordon-and-search operations, extrajudicial killings, and arbitrary arrests, sparing no one.
APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas condemned these violations, exposing how Indian forces stage fake encounters to murder detained Kashmiri youth. He noted that since 1989, hundreds have been extrajudicially executed.
The BJP-led Hindutva regime intensifies this repression, targeting pro-freedom activists, intellectuals, journalists, and youth. A systematic crackdown silences dissent and perpetuates fear across the valley.
Thousands, including Hurriyat leaders, rot in jails on baseless charges. Their only “crime”? Advocating for IIOJK’s right to self-determination. This, Minhas argues, reflects India’s intolerance toward freedom.
India falsely claims normalization after revoking Articles 370 and 35A. Ground realities reveal worsening oppression, widespread detentions, and confiscation of properties—a grim facade of its hollow promises.
Minhas urged global human rights organizations to intervene immediately. He called on the United Nations to pressure India to resolve the Kashmir dispute per UN resolutions. The international community must act.
