Properties seized in IIOJK as BJP continues to target pro-freedom Kashmiris
June 9, 2025In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP-imposed administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha continues to target Kashmiris by seizing their properties as part of a broader campaign to suppress the UN-recognized demand for the right to self-determination.
Indian police and agencies, acting on the orders of Manoj Sinha-led IIOJK administration, have attached 99 properties, including houses, shops and agricultural land, from January to June this year. These assets, collectively worth millions of rupees, are owned by the Kashmiri activists associated with different pro-freedom organizations from Jan to June this year.
The properties have been seized under various sections of the black law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), a controversial law widely criticized by rights groups for being weaponized to stifle legitimate political dissent in IIOJK.
It is to mention here that the BJP led regime has already confiscated the headquarters of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in Srinagar, and hundreds of houses and properties belonging to Hurriyet leaders, activists and organizations across IIOJK over the past several years. New Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency (SIA) and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) have led the campaign.
