In a troubling surge of violence, Indian forces have unleashed widespread terror across IIOJK, intensifying the already dire situation for the defenseless Kashmiri population.

Indian security forces have intensified their brutal operations against innocent Kashmiris, detaining hundreds of youth in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). These operations are part of an ongoing campaign aimed at crushing the spirit of resistance in the region.

The Indian Army, Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Operations Group (SOG), police units, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have jointly launched massive house raids and search operations. Their primary focus appears to be Kashmiris associated with the Hurriyat leadership and other voices of dissent.

More than 65 homes of activists were raided in several Srinagar neighborhoods, including Batamaloo, Safakadal, Soura, Pandach, Bemina, Shalteng, Lal Bazar, and Zadibal. During these raids, families were reportedly terrorized, household belongings vandalized, and valuables including cash and jewelry looted by the forces.

Eyewitnesses described the atmosphere during these operations as deeply frightening. Many spoke to local media, condemning the arbitrary arrests, harassment, and demolition of homes as brutal tactics by the Indian BJP-led government to suppress the Kashmiri demand for a plebiscite. They also criticized the mainstream media for its silence, calling the situation a clear example of state-sponsored terrorism.

The crackdown has not been limited to Srinagar. Similar violent operations are ongoing in the districts of Islamabad (Anantnag), Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara. In many of these areas, residential houses have been destroyed in blasts carried out during search operations.

Authorities have set up mobile vehicle checkpoints across the Valley, increasing surveillance and further restricting the movement of ordinary Kashmiris. The constant fear of detention, house raids, and destruction looms large over the population, who feel abandoned by the global community.

Eyewitness accounts continue to pour in, painting a grim picture of Kashmir under siege. Residents fear that these aggressive operations will only escalate, leading to more human rights violations and further alienation of the Kashmiri people.

The systematic violence unleashed by Indian forces in IIOJK is being seen as an attempt to crush the region’s quest for freedom. Despite the crackdown, the resilient spirit of the Kashmiris remains unbroken, even as they face one of the darkest chapters in their history.
