Kashmiri People’s Struggle Turns the Region into a Nuclear Hotspot: APHC
December 22, 2024APHC spokesperson Abdul Rashid Minhas criticized the militaristic approach of the BJP-led Indian government, warning that its oppressive measures endanger the stability of South Asia.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has reaffirmed that the sacrifices and resilience of the oppressed people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have transformed the Kashmir issue into a nuclear flashpoint, posing a severe threat to regional and global peace.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Abdul Rashid Minhas criticized the militaristic approach of the BJP-led Indian government, warning that its oppressive measures endanger the stability of South Asia. The spokesman condemned the recent arrests of innocent Kashmiri youth and the transfer of political prisoners to Indian jails, highlighting that the Kashmir issue is not merely a territorial or law-and-order matter but a fundamental question of the right to self-determination for over 15 million people in Jammu and Kashmir.
The APHC urged the United Nations to address the Kashmir dispute in line with its Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. It warned that India’s intransigence could spark a nuclear conflict if the international community fails to act.
The APHC also decried the BJP government’s use of brute force, black laws, and a military siege to suppress the Kashmiri freedom struggle, accusing Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration of corruption and communal bias.
The statement concluded with a call for immediate international intervention, stressing that delaying the resolution of the Kashmir dispute could have catastrophic consequences for global peace.
