Kashmiri Diaspora Urges Unity and Strategy for Freedom from Indian Occupation
August 20, 2024Kashmiri diaspora groups from the U.S. and Canada convened in Maryland, emphasizing the need for a unified approach to address the Kashmir dispute. The event underscored the importance of collective action and strategic planning.
Sardar Zulfiqar Roshan Khan, the event host, highlighted the shared identity of all attendees, stating, “We all belong to one party, and that is Kashmir.”
Dr. Touqeer Gilani, a leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), encouraged the diaspora to adopt forward-looking strategies and establish a unified platform for self-determination.
Dr. Imtiaz Khan praised the Azad Kashmiri diaspora for their active involvement and stressed the necessity for a well-coordinated action plan.
Advocate Sardar Anwar called for the release of Yasin Malik, Chairman of JKLF, and reaffirmed the fundamental right to self-determination for Kashmiris.
Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai warned of the potential for a genocide in Kashmir at the hands of Indian troops, urging global leaders and the international community to take action.
The gathering highlighted the critical need for unity and strategic planning to advance the cause of freedom and self-determination for Kashmir and free from Indian illegal occupation.
Participants also expressed gratitude for the hospitality provided during the event and concluded with prayers for the health and recovery of Sardar Zarif Khan Sahib and Sardar Sawar Khan Sahib.
