Indian Police Attach Properties of Kashmiri Residents in Baramulla District

According to a handout issued by the police in Srinagar, the action was taken following orders from the Additional Sessions Court Baramulla. The attached properties, totalling 13 Kanals of land, belong to individuals including Shabbir Ahmad Sofi of Sheikhpora, Ghulam Nabi Alaie of Waripora Payeen, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh of Warpora Bala, Sharifud Din Chopan, Gulla Sheikh (son of Ghulam Mohammad) of Reshipora Authoora, Mohammad Rafiq Khan Abdul Ahad of Saloosa, and Abdul Hameed Parray of Frasthar Tilgam.
The properties were identified as belonging to Kashmiri individuals residing outside the occupied territory. This move by the Indian authorities is likely to exacerbate tensions and further alienate Kashmiri residents, adding to existing grievances over property seizures and alleged human rights violations. The attachment of properties underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Kashmiri civilians under Indian administration, highlighting the need for transparent and accountable governance in the region.
