Ex-CM IIOJK Advocates for Dialogue with Pakistan to Address Kashmiris’ Issues

Farooq Abdullah, the chief of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, has urged the Modi-led Indian government to resume dialogue with Pakistan as a means to address issues between the two countries.

Speaking in a media interview in Srinagar, Abdullah emphasized that military actions cannot effectively resolve conflicts and advocated for the revival of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to foster regional peace.

Abdullah highlighted the importance of diplomatic engagement with Pakistan, stating, “Unless we talk to our neighbors, we cannot solve it.” He expressed optimism about Pakistan’s desire for peaceful relations and called for opening doors for dialogue.

In addition, Abdullah stressed the need to revive SAARC, emphasizing its role in promoting cooperation and stability in the region. He underscored the importance of regional collaboration for addressing common challenges and advancing mutual interests.
