A shocking act of religious defilement has ignited global concern as Indian troops in Srinagar are accused of desecrating the Holy Quran, deepening the wounds of a beleaguered region.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the desecration of the Holy Quran by Indian forces in Srinagar’s Central Jail has sparked widespread condemnation from All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders and various organizations. This incident is seen as a deliberate provocation targeting the religious sentiments of Kashmiri Muslims.

Senior APHC leader and President of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, voiced his outrage during a gathering in Budgam. He criticized the Islamophobic policies of the occupation authorities, accusing them of orchestrating such acts under their direct supervision. He emphasized that these actions highlight the religious bigotry ingrained within the Indian administration.

Other prominent voices, including incarcerated leaders Fayaz Hussain Jafari and Syed Sibte Shabir Qumi, along with groups such as the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir, and Kashmir Ulema Council, also issued strong condemnations. They declared that these sacrilegious actions would never be tolerated and warned of dire consequences if such provocations persist.

The leaders accused the BJP-led Indian government of systematically undermining the cultural and religious identity of Kashmiri Muslims. They argued that these deliberate provocations are tools to further alienate and suppress the Kashmiri people, exacerbating their suffering under occupation.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, APHC leaders called for urgent international intervention to hold India accountable for its ongoing violations of religious freedoms and human rights in the region. They cautioned that continued impunity for these actions risks escalating the fragile situation in IIOJK, urging the global community to act before it is too late.
