Deputy PM Declares “Victory Will Be Ours” as Pakistan Responds to Indian Aggression with Operation Bunyān-um-Marsoos
May 10, 2025Amid rising tensions and cross-border hostilities, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has declared that the nation is standing firm in self-defense, assuring, “Victory will be ours.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed on Saturday that Pakistan has launched a large-scale military retaliation—Operation Bunyān-um-Marsoos—targeting key Indian military sites in response to what he called India’s “unprovoked aggression.”
Dar emphasized that Pakistan’s response is not an act of war, but a defensive measure taken after repeated violations of its airspace and territory by Indian forces. He stated that India had carried out missile strikes on three Pakistani air bases, including one near Islamabad, but that Pakistani air defense systems successfully intercepted most of them.
“This is not an offensive war,” Dar said during a press briefing. “Pakistan is responding to continuous Indian hostility. While we speak of peace, India acts otherwise.”
The foreign minister revealed that 35 Pakistani civilians have been martyred in recent Indian attacks, and 80 Indian drones have been shot down by Pakistan’s military. He affirmed that the ongoing operation is precise, targeting only installations directly involved in aggression against Pakistan.
Dar accused India of spreading misinformation and making baseless claims, especially in the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident. He noted that India expelled Pakistani diplomats and shut down communication channels without offering any credible evidence to support their accusations.
“They shut the border, expelled our diplomats, and made wild accusations — all of which remain unproven,” Dar stated.
He reassured the public and international community that Pakistan’s military had been on alert from day one and took calculated actions to preserve national sovereignty in the face of covert missile and drone attacks.
Dismissing Indian claims of having destroyed 15 Pakistani targets, Dar called out New Delhi’s narrative as “non-stop lies over the past 48 hours.” He also rejected India’s veiled nuclear posturing, calling it irresponsible and unsubstantiated.
“Our operation is proportionate and within our rights,” he asserted. “The world is watching, and it is now the international community’s responsibility to make India realise the gravity of its mistake.”
Dar concluded his statement by reinforcing the government’s resolve and determination. “Pakistan is acting in self-defense. We do not want escalation, but we will not tolerate threats to our sovereignty. Victory will be Pakistan’s.”
