A 25-year-old Muslim youth was severely beaten by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel in Bihar, India. The assault occurred at Janakpur Road Railway Station in Sitamarhi district, leaving the victim, Mohammed Furqan, with life-threatening injuries.

Furqan was at the station to drop off his aunt, who was traveling to Mumbai. An altercation with a passenger over a berth led to the GRP personnel attacking him. Despite Furqan’s pleas to avoid hitting his recently operated abdomen, the policemen continued their brutal assault.

Furqan had undergone intestinal surgery two years prior. The GRP’s repeated blows caused his stomach to burst open on the left side, exposing his intestine. A video of the incident has gone viral, triggering widespread outrage on social media.

Witnesses at the station vandalized Janakpur Road station in anger over the GRP personnel’s barbaric behavior. The incident has highlighted the urgent need for accountability and justice in cases of police brutality in India.
