BJP Uses Investigative Agencies to Coerce Corporate Donations in India

Allegations of political extortion have surfaced against India’s ruling BJP, as reports suggest corporations were forced into massive donations under legal pressure.

An investigative report by independent Indian media outlet Newslaundry has revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) allegedly used central agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Income Tax (IT) department to conduct raids on at least 33 corporate companies. These firms were reportedly pressured into donating a staggering INR 335 crore to the ruling party in India.
