AJK Premier Vows Resistance Against Indian Aggression, Warns of Emergency Measures
May 2, 2025As tensions rise along the Line of Control, Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s leadership signals unwavering support for Pakistan’s military and warns India against any further acts of aggression.
Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has declared that the entire Kashmiri nation stands united against India’s escalating hostility. Speaking at a session of the AJK Legislative Assembly on Thursday, he reaffirmed his government’s firm support for Pakistan’s armed forces.
“We are prepared to make every sacrifice necessary,” the Prime Minister said, adding that he would be the first to stand on the front lines if the situation demands it. He underscored that the government is closely monitoring regional developments and will not hesitate to declare a state of emergency should the conflict intensify.
Prime Minister Haq stressed the collective strength of Pakistan’s military, its leadership, the resilient people of Pakistan, and the Kashmiri diaspora. Together, he said, they form an unshakable force capable of countering any aggression from India.
He further announced that the youth of Azad Kashmir and retired army personnel are fully prepared to join the military’s efforts if required. “The AJK government understands the gravity of the situation and is fulfilling its responsibilities,” he added.
To bolster emergency preparedness, an emergency response fund with an initial allocation of one billion rupees has already been set up. The Prime Minister also confirmed that stockpiles of food, medicines, and essential supplies have been secured in all 13 constituencies near the Line of Control (LoC), ensuring enough resources for two months.
Efforts are also underway to keep critical infrastructure operational. Government and private sector machinery have been mobilized to restore damaged roads in areas like Neelum, Jhelum, Poonch, and Samahni. Emergency response agencies including SDMA, Rescue 1122, and Civil Defense have been placed on high alert.
Referring to recent hostilities, the Prime Minister condemned unprovoked shelling by Indian forces across the LoC. He praised Pakistan’s military for its swift and decisive response.
PM Haq also revealed that Indian authorities have blocked access to Pakistani YouTube channels and other digital platforms in response to his statements. He accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of censorship and fear-mongering.
Calling Modi the “butcher of Gujarat” and a “murderer of humanity,” the AJK Prime Minister mocked India’s insecurity. “Despite leading a nation of 1.34 billion people, Modi fears a leader who speaks for just 4.5 million Kashmiris,” he said.
He reaffirmed that India is acting as a terrorist state, and its actions have been exposed before the international community. The Prime Minister concluded by asserting that the Kashmiri people’s freedom movement, built on the sacrifices of martyrs, will continue until India’s illegal occupation ends.
