An Innocent Kashmiri Youth Martyred in Fake Encounter in IIOJK

In yet another display of state terrorism, Indian troops have martyred an innocent Kashmiri youth in Srinagar, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This latest incident took place during a so-called “cordon and search operation” in the Dachigam-Harwan area. The operation, however, was nothing more than a staged act of violence meant to cover up their brutal tactics.

According to the reports, the youth was killed in what has been described as a fake encounter. The Indian forces often justify such cold-blooded killings by labeling them as “encounters,” when, in reality, they are nothing but targeted assassinations. This operation continued well into the morning, as the troops intensified their efforts to keep the area under a suffocating lockdown.

These operations are carried out regularly under the guise of counterinsurgency measures. However, they are nothing but an extension of India’s colonial occupation of IIOJK. The constant military presence in the region has created an environment where every Kashmiri citizen is a potential target. The arbitrary killing of civilians has become a hallmark of Indian military operations in IIOJK.

The martyred youth’s only crime was his existence in a region oppressed by an authoritarian regime. Indian forces have repeatedly carried out these operations to instill fear among the Kashmiri population. They want to remind everyone that dissent will not be tolerated, and any form of resistance will be met with violence.

While the Indian government continues to deny accusations of human rights violations, the reality on the ground speaks for itself. Kashmiris are subjected to daily humiliation, violence, and constant surveillance. The region has been under a brutal military siege for years, and the situation is only worsening with each passing day.

This recent killing is not an isolated incident. It is part of a long history of violence aimed at silencing the legitimate struggle for Kashmiri self-determination. The Indian state’s hypocrisy is evident in its consistent claim of peace efforts while its military continues to unleash terror on unarmed civilians.

The world must not turn a blind eye to these atrocities. India’s actions in IIOJK must be recognized for what they are: an oppressive, militarized occupation that is destroying the lives of millions of innocent Kashmiris. It is high time that international bodies hold India accountable for its war crimes in the region.
