Kashmir Under Siege: India’s Relentless Atrocities Exposed
November 24, 2024In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Modi regime has unleashed unprecedented brutality on unarmed Kashmiri civilians. Hurriyat organizations have condemned this reign of terror, accusing Indian troops of indiscriminate violence and killings under state protection.
Hurriyat leaders, including those from Jammu Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu Kashmir Muslim League, and other allied groups, issued strong statements denouncing the horrific torture of four innocent laborers in Kishtwar district. These statements described the images of the tortured victims as profoundly disturbing, revealing the savage face of India’s occupying forces. Summoned to the camp of the 11 Rashtriya Rifles in Mughal Maidan for questioning, the victims — Sajjad Ahmad, Abdul Kabir, Mushtaq Ahmad, and Mehraj-ud-Din — were subjected to extreme physical abuse and later abandoned in critical condition.
For over seven decades, India has systematically trampled on human rights in IIOJK, but the scale of its atrocities has reached alarming levels, particularly over the past three decades. The brutal oppression, mass detentions, and frequent killings exemplify the Hindutva-driven policies of the Modi government, aiming to subjugate the Kashmiri population.
Hurriyat organizations condemned India’s blatant hypocrisy, which touts itself as the world’s largest democracy while using military force to crush peaceful calls for freedom. They highlighted how the Indian government strips Kashmiris of basic rights and punishes journalists attempting to report the grim realities. This crackdown on free speech mirrors the authoritarianism of a regime desperate to silence dissent.
Despite these extreme measures, the Hurriyat leaders reaffirmed the resilience and courage of the Kashmiri people. They declared that India’s military oppression and demographic manipulation would never break the spirit of the people, who continue to resist occupation with unwavering determination. Kashmiris remain steadfast in their demand for justice, freedom, and the right to self-determination as guaranteed by United Nations resolutions.
The systematic targeting of innocent civilians, such as the Kishtwar laborers, further exposes the Modi government’s malicious designs to crush any form of resistance. Instead of addressing grievances, India chooses violence, signaling its failure to uphold democratic values and international human rights norms.
The international community must no longer turn a blind eye to this state-sponsored oppression. Urgent action is needed to hold India accountable and to ensure that justice is served for the oppressed people of IIOJK.
