Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of imprisoned Kashmiri leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, has emphasized that the Kashmiri people seek true freedom rather than token elections. She argues that the ongoing elections in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are illegitimate and cannot replace a plebiscite.

In a recent video message, Mushaal criticized the present elections, labeling them as fraudulent. She insisted that Kashmiris are demanding a free and fair plebiscite as mandated by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, rather than elections held under the oppressive conditions of Indian military presence.

Mushaal stressed that the Kashmiri struggle is rooted in their fundamental right to self-determination. This right is enshrined in UNSC resolutions and should align with the principles of partition previously agreed upon. She accused Indian authorities of perpetuating their illegal occupation through violence and coercion.

Furthermore, she challenged India’s claim to be a democratic nation. Mushaal called for the release of true Kashmiri representatives, including Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah, Musarat Aalam, and Asiya Andrabi. She argued that these leaders should be freed to enable a genuine plebiscite, asserting that they truly represent the Kashmiri people.

Mushaal vowed that the Kashmiri nation would expose every unjust action taken by the Indian government. She believes that their oppressive tactics are designed to maintain the status quo in Kashmir, which is inherently unjust.

“The struggle is for the right to self-determination,” she stated emphatically. Mushaal highlighted that the Kashmiri people reject what she termed as the “most fraudulent elections” and would never settle for anything less than complete freedom.

She further explained that the voices of the Kashmiri people are unified in their demand for liberation from Indian rule. The candidates participating in these elections, whether new or established, are viewed as instruments of the Indian government’s agenda. Mushaal asserts that they do not represent the true interests of the Kashmiri populace.

To conclude, Mushaal Hussein Mullick reiterated her commitment to challenge the prevailing status quo. She declared that they are freedom fighters who will boycott these fraudulent elections. “These elections are not a substitute for freedom,” she concluded, emphasizing the importance of authentic self-determination for the people of Kashmir.
