Indian Parliamentarian Kapil Sibal has strongly criticized the Modi government in the aftermath of recent attacks in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Sibal drew parallels between these attacks and the Pulwama incident, suggesting that the current government is using terror for political gains, as was allegedly done in the past.

In his post on X, Sibal urged people to reflect on the dangers of politicizing terrorism. He expressed solidarity with the victims and questioned how Prime Minister Modi would react if he were in opposition today. Sibal’s critique comes after a series of attacks in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts, resulting in nine deaths, including seven pilgrims and a CRPF jawan, and leaving seven security personnel and others injured.

“Increasing attacks in IIOJK. We all stand by you Modiji, but I wonder what you would have said about these terror attacks if you were in Opposition today as people will remember Pulwama attacks,” Sibal wrote. He also referenced the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and Modi’s past statements, highlighting the need for the public to consider the implications of using terrorism for political advantage.

Sibal’s comments underline a broader concern about the government’s handling of security issues and the potential exploitation of terror incidents for political purposes. His call to avoid politicizing such tragedies resonates with a broader call for a more measured and non-partisan approach to national security.
