Massive rallies in Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot mark Youm-e-Takbeer, with Kashmiris declaring unwavering solidarity with Pakistan and its nuclear deterrence as a symbol of Muslim strength and regional stability.

Youm-e-Takbeer was commemorated with tremendous national fervor across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), as thousands of people joined vibrant rallies in Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot to celebrate Pakistan’s historic nuclear tests of May 1998.

Participants, waving the flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, marched with renewed spirit, chanting passionate slogans such as “Our bond with Pakistan is La ilaha illallah” and “Our hearts beat with Kashmir, our lives with Pakistan.” The central rally in Muzaffarabad began at Shaheed Burhan Wani Chowk and concluded at Shaheed Afzal Guru Chowk, symbolizing the shared struggle and sacrifice of the Kashmiri people.

Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and AJK political figures, while addressing the gatherings, paid rich tribute to Pakistan’s leadership, scientists, and armed forces for transforming Pakistan into a nuclear power in response to India’s provocative nuclear tests. The speakers specially honored Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Dr. Samar Mubarakmand, and others who played pivotal roles in making Pakistan a strategic bulwark against regional aggression.

They declared Pakistan the “defensive shield of the Muslim Ummah” and the sole nuclear power among 57 Islamic nations, adding that oppressed people in Palestine, Gaza, and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) look to Pakistan as a beacon of hope and steadfast ally in their struggles.

Special appreciation was extended for the recent military success of Operation Bunyad-e-Marsus, which was hailed as another example of Pakistan’s preparedness and resolve in safeguarding national sovereignty and supporting oppressed communities across the Muslim world.

Speakers reiterated that Pakistan is not just a stakeholder in the Kashmir dispute, but the legitimate voice and advocate of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. They emphasized that Kashmiris will never accept Indian military occupation and demanded that the international community intervene to implement UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir for sustainable peace in South Asia.

The observance of Youm-e-Takbeer in AJK reaffirmed the deep-rooted emotional, ideological, and strategic ties between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan—ties forged in history and strengthened in resistance.
