The BJP Shield For Predators: Why Bajrang Dal Roams Free While 130 Women Vanish Daily

The BJP Shield For Predators: Why Bajrang Dal Roams Free While 130 Women Vanish Daily

The international community is often misled by tall claims of progress and democracy but the ground reality for women across the border reveals a terrifying humanitarian disaster. While the leadership projects an image of a rising power the internal security of its most vulnerable citizens has completely collapsed. The staggering scale of women vanishing into thin air is not a mere law and order issue but proof of systemic neglect and state-sponsored apathy. In just one province approximately 130 women and girls disappear every single day. This is a brutal indictment of a society that claims to respect women yet allows them to be swallowed by trafficking networks and extremist groups with criminal indifference.

1 THE STATISTICAL COLLAPSE IN MADHYA PRADESH

1.1 Massive Surge In Missing Cases

In the state of Madhya Pradesh the situation is out of control because between 2020 and January 28 2026 a total of 274,311 women and girls were reported missing. This massive figure was officially disclosed in the state assembly which means the government cannot hide its own failure. This translates to an annual average of nearly 45,000 cases. Breaking this down further means about 3,700 women go missing every month. The data provided by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shows a pattern of total stagnation in safety. More than 30,000 women went missing in 2020 and this surged past 39,000 in 2021. By 2023 the figure crossed 40,000 again. Even in 2025 more than 31,000 women were reported missing. In the opening weeks of 2026 over 1,000 cases have already been registered proving the crisis is accelerating.

1.2 The Crisis Of Untraced Souls

The government claims to have traced 235,977 individuals but this leaves a massive gap of 68,334 women and girls who remain unaccounted for. This number is equivalent to the entire female population of a city just vanishing. It is a shameful reflection on investigative agencies that so many thousands of lives remain in limbo. Statistics regarding long-term disappearances are even more disturbing because as of June 30 2025 there were 23,129 females missing for over a year. This includes 21,175 adult women and 1,954 young girls. When a case extends beyond a year it usually points toward human trafficking facilitated by those with local influence.

2 POLITICAL PATRONAGE AND EXTREMIST MILITANCY

2.1 The Role Of Protected Criminals

The question the state refuses to answer is who is responsible for these disappearances. It is no secret that extremist groups like the Bajrang Dal and other militants linked to the RSS and BJP ideology operate with total impunity. These groups often act as the moral police while engaging in the very activities that lead to the exploitation of women.

2.2 State-Sponsored Insecurity

In this climate of fear the victims and their families are often forced into silence. The government has created a system where speaking out against local political heavyweights or their militant supporters leads to further victimisation.

3 THE NATIONAL PATTERN OF GENDER NEGLECT

3.1 Nationwide Surge In Disappearances

The horror in Madhya Pradesh is part of a larger national pattern of negligence. Data from the National Crime Records Bureau shows that missing person cases have surged nationwide. In 2021 alone there were 389,844 persons reported missing including 265,481 females and 124,177 males. This means women constituted nearly 68% of the missing population that year. This represented a 20.6% increase from the previous year. By 2023 the cumulative number of missing persons reached approximately 868,559 with tracing rates stuck at a miserable 53%.

3.2 Widening Gender Gap In Safety

The gender gap in safety has widened significantly since 2019 which indicates that society is becoming increasingly dangerous for its female citizens. Two thirds of these missing persons were female with 3.24 lakh women disappearing compared to 1.59 lakh men. Women now make up around 65% of the total missing population. Even though the female tracing rate is cited at 54.9% it is still insufficient as the absolute number of untraced women remains far higher because they are targeted more frequently by organized crime groups that enjoy political patronage.

4 INSTITUTIONAL BREAKDOWN AND EXPLOITATION

4.1 Institutional Rot And Failure Of Justice

The failure of the state is rooted in deep seated apathy and a lack of accountability. Experts link these high disappearance rates to organized trafficking networks and forced marriages. Between 2019 and 2023 the backlog of unresolved missing cases nationwide grew from 3.12 lakh to 3.84 lakh. This growing backlog is a clear sign that the judicial and police systems are failing to keep up with the pace of crime. When tens of thousands of women remain missing for over a year it is evident that the state has abandoned its duty in favor of protecting its political interests.

4.2 Targeting Of Children In The Capital

Even the national capital of Delhi is a mirror of this national shame. The data regarding children is even more heartbreaking because in 2025 alone 4,854 children were reported missing in Delhi. Out of these children 72% were girls which amounts to 3,509 individuals compared to only 1,345 boys. Among the adult population 57% of those missing were women.

5 THE CRIMINAL ALLIANCE AND FINAL ACCOUNTABILITY

5.1 The BJP And RSS Shield

The reality is that such massive numbers of disappearances cannot happen without high-level government patronage. It is impossible for 130 women to vanish every single day unless the state is actively shielding the kidnappers. The criminal nexus between the BJP and the RSS-backed Bajrang Dal has created a safe haven for these goons.

5.2 A Society Under Siege

The state cannot claim the status of a civilized democracy while it loses its citizens to its own political wings. The consistency of these figures with over 30,000 in 2020 and nearly 39,000 in 2021 and over 40,000 in 2023 and more than 31,000 in 2025 shows that the BJP government has no intention of stopping this horror. Until these trafficking networks and their political protectors are dismantled the statistics will continue to climb. The numbers scream for justice and the silence of the leadership is nothing but criminal complicity in this ongoing disaster. Every missing woman is a testament to the fact that the BJP has traded the lives of its citizens for the empowerment of its extremist street power.
