Sonia Gandhi Criticizes Modi Government’s Claims of Normalcy in IIOJK
August 1, 2024Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), has raised concerns about the ongoing situation in Indian-illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She believes that the current state of affairs contradicts the Modi government’s claims of normalcy in the region.
During a CPP meeting, Gandhi highlighted the frequent attacks in the Jammu region, stating that there have been 11 incidents there alone. Similar attacks have also occurred in the Kashmir Valley. She argued that these events undermine the government’s assertion that everything is under control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Gandhi also criticized Narendra Modi for his absence in Manipur, where unrest continues. She stressed the importance of addressing the concerns of farmers and the youth, pointing out the shortcomings of the recent Budget in these critical areas.
The CPP Chairperson expressed her disappointment with the government’s approach to education, competitive examinations, and the functioning of autonomous organizations. She believes that these areas have been poorly managed and require urgent attention.
Gandhi praised her party’s MPs for their efforts in highlighting the budget’s inadequacies. She urged the newly elected MPs to remain vigilant and committed to their responsibilities. The CPP meeting concluded with a resolution authorizing Gandhi to appoint office-bearers and expressed condolences to the families affected by recent natural disasters and railway accidents.
Gandhi’s remarks reflect growing concerns within the Congress party regarding the Modi government’s handling of critical issues. Her criticism serves as a call to action for party members to continue challenging the government’s policies and advocating for the needs of the people.
