Sham Elections Results Expose BJP’s False Promises in IIOJK: A Resounding Rejection of Modi’s Agenda
October 9, 2024IIOJK – The recently concluded sham assembly elections in Indian-Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have yielded a crushing defeat for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with the party securing a mere 29 seats out of 90.
The National Conference-Congress alliance emerged victorious, winning 49 seats, comprising 42 for the National Conference, 6 for Congress, and 1 for CPI-M. The Peoples Democratic Party claimed 3 seats, while both the People’s Conference and Aam Aadmi Party won 1 seat each. Independents secured 7 seats.
Electoral Collapse
The BJP’s electoral collapse is a testament to Kashmiris’ unwavering demand for self-determination and rejection of the Modi government’s illegal actions on August 5, 2019.
“The results demonstrate Kashmiris’ commitment to continue their mission for freedom and self-determination until realized,” said a Kashmir watcher.
Rigging Efforts Fail
Despite extensive pro-poll rigging efforts, including gerrymandering and exploiting state machinery, the BJP failed to yield desired results. The party had awarded six additional seats to Hindu-dominated Jammu and only one to the Muslim-majority Kashmir Valley.
International Community Urged to Take Note
The international community must take note of this clear message from Kashmiris, reaffirming their resolve for freedom and self-determination.
“The world must recognize the illegitimacy of India’s occupation and support Kashmiris’ right to self-determination,” added the observer.
BJP’s Divisive Politics
The BJP’s defeat underscores the failure of its divisive politics, which have only exacerbated tensions in the region.
“The people have rejected the BJP’s agenda, and it’s time for India to reconsider its approach,” said a political analyst.
