Protests have erupted across Indian-illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), with demonstrators voicing demands for statehood, resolving water crises, and protecting workers’ rights.

In Srinagar, protesters criticized the Modi government for delaying the restoration of statehood. They emphasized that the growing disconnect between Delhi and Kashmir is disheartening the local population.

Political leaders and activists joined the protest, carrying placards and chanting slogans. They demanded the restoration of statehood before the Assembly elections, accusing the Modi regime of disempowering the Kashmiri people.

In Shopian, residents staged a protest against severe water shortages. They threatened to escalate their protests if authorities did not address the issue. The residents of several villages, including Muqam Kellar Dunrau and Shalidar, are facing acute water scarcity.

Meanwhile, in Ramban, around 200 tunnel construction workers have been on strike for a week. They were disengaged by an outsider construction company, which they accused of sidelining local workers in favor of those from other parts of India.

These protests highlight the growing frustration among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They are demanding solutions to their long-standing problems and seeking accountability from the authorities.
