In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior APHC leader and President of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosavi Al-Safavi, led a protest in Badgam today against Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, condemning them as a grave threat to global peace.

The protest witnessed participation from clerics and local residents who raised slogans against Israeli aggression and expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and Palestine.

Speaking to reporters, Agha Hassan denounced the strikes as a blatant violation of international law and diplomatic norms and an attack on justice and humanity. He said that Iran was targeted solely for its vocal and principled support to the people of Gaza and Palestine. “The Israeli strikes on Iran are unjust, provocative, and an open challenge to the international community,” Agha Hassan said.

He warned that such aggressive actions could plunge the entire region into a wider war, endangering global peace and security. He called upon the United Nations, OIC, and other international human rights organizations to intervene immediately and take concrete steps to de-escalate tensions. Agha Hassan also highlighted the need for the world community to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the long-pending issue of Palestine. He said ignoring the root cause, Israel’s continued occupation and oppression, will only lead to more bloodshed and instability.

Meanwhile, senior National Conference leader and Indian parliament member from Srinagar, Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi also condemned Israeli actions. In a post on X, he labeled Israel a “colonial thug” bombing multiple sovereign states, including Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, and Iran. He further stated that attacking sovereign nations does not confer power but defines a state as a “terrorist”.

Mehdi asserted Iran, like any sovereign country, has the right to defend itself and take “punishing revenge”. “The Zionist regime should pay for its crimes in Gaza, for its bloodlust, for its massacres,” he added. He also criticized India’s abstention from a United Nations General Assembly vote on a resolution seeking an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
