Posters have reappeared in Srinagar and other areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, calling on the public to observe August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal, a Black Day. This date marks the 2019 revocation of Articles 370 and 35A by the Hindutva BJP government, stripping the region of its special status and imposing a severe military siege.

The posters feature images of detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders, including Massarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Aasiya Andrabi, and Nayeem Ahmed Khan. These leaders, along with various Hurriyat parties, are rejecting the illegal actions of August 5, 2019.

The posters demand the reversal of these actions, the settlement of the Kashmir dispute according to United Nations resolutions, the release of all political detainees, and an end to human rights violations by Indian forces in the region.

In addition to physical displays, the posters have gained traction on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, amplifying the call for solidarity and resistance against India’s unilateral actions.
