PDP President Condemns Delayed Payments to Contractors in IIOJK

Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized the administration installed by the Modi government, alleging that contractors throughout occupied Jammu and Kashmir are being deprived of payment despite finishing their projects.

According to reports, Mehbooba, speaking on an unspecified platform, called upon the Lieutenant Governor to intervene in the situation. She highlighted that contractors across the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) region are being denied payment despite completing their projects. Mehbooba emphasized that these contractors are burdened with hefty loans acquired from banks to meet tender requirements.

The PDP leader further stated that despite fulfilling their obligations on various projects, these contractors are facing delays in receiving their payments, citing various excuses from authorities. This, she emphasized, is causing significant distress to the families of these contractors, especially with Eid approaching.

Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks shed light on the economic challenges faced by contractors in the region, exacerbating their financial burdens and impacting their livelihoods.
