‘Paris Hosts Kashmir Solidarity Gathering’

On January 5, a solidarity event was organized in Paris under the leadership of Mirza Asif Jarral, President of the Jammu Kashmir Democrat Forum France, to reaffirm support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination. The event, held at 26 Avenue Paul Vaillant Couturier, La Courneuve, gathered speakers and participants from various backgrounds to voice their commitment to the cause.
Prominent speakers, including Hamid Ali, Raja Ashfaq, and Imran Rashid, emphasized the significance of the UN resolution passed on January 5, 1949, which guarantees Kashmiris the right to determine their future through a plebiscite. They expressed unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle for freedom and justice, condemning the continued human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Mirza Asif Jarral underscored the importance of the day for Kashmiris, stressing that January 5 marked the international recognition of their right to self-determination. He vowed to continue organizing similar events to raise awareness and gather global support for the Kashmir cause.
The gathering condemned the ongoing oppression in IIOJK and called on the international community to hold India accountable for its disregard of international law, urging the fulfillment of commitments made under UN resolutions. The event concluded with a unified call for justice, peace, and freedom for the people of IIOJK.
