Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has called on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to use his influence to achieve a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Dar made this appeal during a meeting with the UN chief on the sidelines of a high-level conference on Gaza in Jordan. He praised the UN Secretary-General’s initiative to co-host the conference with Jordan and Egypt, highlighting its importance given the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people.

In his discussions, Dar commended Guterres for his leadership and proactive stance in addressing the situation in Gaza on the international stage. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm condemnation of the indiscriminate and brutal use of force by Israel against Palestinians.

Dar called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring unimpeded humanitarian assistance to those besieged, the return of displaced Palestinians, and accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel. His statements underscore Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Palestinian rights and seeking international support for resolving long-standing conflicts.
