Rawalpindi – The Pakistan Army has voiced deep concern over the persistent human rights abuses in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.

The matter was discussed during the 268th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The meeting was chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, who underscored the Pakistan Army’s continued moral, political, and diplomatic backing for the Kashmiri cause.

A statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) strongly condemned recent unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian Army along the Line of Control (LoC). It emphasized that such provocations not only threaten regional peace but also expose India’s aggressive posture amid its ongoing campaign of repression in Kashmir.

The Pakistan Army leadership reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and highlighted the plight of Kashmiris facing daily hardships under India’s militarized occupation. The commanders expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people, who continue to endure curfews, arbitrary arrests, communication blackouts, and other forms of state-sponsored oppression.

The conference’s reaffirmation of support comes at a time when international human rights organizations have intensified their calls for independent investigations into violations in IIOJK.

As the situation in the region remains tense, Pakistan has called on the global community to play a more proactive role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
